About Techharborgrid

Clear bearings in a rule-bound pay system

We help international employees and English-speaking candidates read German collective pay structures without stripping away the important detail.

Why this practice exists

A German offer can state a precise group and step while leaving a candidate unsure what either means. Techharborgrid began after repeated conversations with people relocating to Bavaria who could compare job titles but not the tariff rules behind their salary. The practice turns those rules into an explanation tied to one person’s documents and duties.

Our approach

We start with the agreement actually named in the contract. We trace the pay table, classification characteristics, experience provisions, working-time basis, and relevant payments. During the consultation, we distinguish what the document states, what depends on employer assessment, and what needs specialist legal advice.

The aim is not to make every tariff clause sound simple. It is to make the important distinctions visible: Entgeltgruppe is not Stufe; table pay is not always total annual pay; a familiar job title does not by itself determine classification.

Who you speak with

Lead consultant Mara Feld works with internationally mobile employees and German–English employment documentation. Her background combines HR compensation analysis and adult guidance on public-sector pay structures. For tax calculations, legal representation, or union matters, she directs clients to the appropriate regulated professional or workplace body.

Values at the desk

Specific before certain. We ask for the named agreement and relevant pages before drawing conclusions.

Useful limits. We say clearly when a question belongs with a lawyer, tax adviser, union, works council, or employer.

Independent explanation. Techharborgrid is not part of an employer, recruitment agency, or trade union and receives no referral fee for recommendations.
